Refreshed Practice Education Standards
INTRODUCTION:
The imminent increase in the role of Social Work England (SWE), for pre-and post-qualifying social workers and the proposed strengthening of the SWE Professional Standards, casts some uncertainty about the future of valued standards and frameworks such as; PCF, PEPS and QAPL.
This webinar will provide a context for the development of practice educator training in England, with a key focus on the refreshed PEPS guidance introduced in the summer of 2022. Participants will get the opportunity to explore these changes and consider the impact for social work stakeholders.
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
By the end of the course, delegates will:
- Explore notions of vulnerability and childhood and how these are applied to some children more than others;
- Understand the broad concepts of intersectionality and adultification;
- Identify ways to guard against adultification in practice;
- Review findings from serious case reviews relating to child criminal exploitation.
